the silvered arched dial with Turkish numerals, signed Lafontaine, 18 Palais-Royal, Paris, the carriage clock movement with lever platform escapement and striking on a gong, No.1369, the ornate case with crescent finial and dome top above spiral pilasters, ogee panels and stepped feet, the whole cast and engraved with animals, figures and birds amidst sinuous scrolls
