A GEM-SET SILVER-GILT AND MOTHER OF PEARL TRAVELLING TRIPTYCH ICON, OLOVYANISHNIKOV AND SONS, MOSCOW, 1908-1917


the cover set with rose-cut sapphires and rock crystal, opening to reveal Christ Pantocrator flanked by the Mother of God and John the Baptist, all painted inside reserves surrounded by inlaid mother of pearl and set with square-cut emeralds, engraved on the back with a verse from the Troparion of the Holy Cross, struck on the lower edge with Partnership of Olovyanishnikov with the Imperial warrant, 84 standard; with original fitted case

opened: 7.6 by 14.3cm, 3⅛ by 5⅝in.
