the Virgin's maphorion and the Christ Child's robes picked out in seed pearls, the halos and corner pieces similarly decorated in polychrome enamels, the borders with raised foliate frieze and enamel plaque, struck on the edge with maker's initials, 84 standard

31.5 by 27.5cm., 12½by 10¾in.

The visible painting area largely restored with fine black lines running through the surfaces, imitating craquelure throughout the faces. The panel is also covered with a thick layer of varnish.

The oklad attached to the icon. The icon has not been inspected without the oklad.
