GEORGY GRIGORIEVICH NISSKY
signed in Cyrillic l.l.
oil on canvas
45 by 100.5cm, 17¾ by 39½in.
Original canvas. The tacking edges of the canvas have been taped over. There are minor frame abrasions along the edges. There is fine craquelure in places, most notably to the areas of impasto and to the sky. Some small associated losses are visible in the impasto of the clouds to the right of the centre. There is a light layer of surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals no obvious signs of retouching. A second Cyrillic signature (G Nissky) in the lower right corner has been overpainted but is visible under IR. Held in a black painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
