Anonymous sale ('Property from an Estate'), New York, Sotheby's, 5 October 2001, lot 99 (as Attributed to Cornelis van Poelenburch), where acquired.

Both the present painting and its pendant belonged to the Duc de Praslin, where they were entitled Vue des environs de Lérida and attributed to Breenbergh. They remained together until the latter was sold at Sotheby's, Amsterdam, 5 November 2002, lot 141 (as Ryssen).1
