The canvas is lined. The painting reads well with the colors beautifully preserved, for example the bright blue on the sky. Minor craquelure visible throughout. Frame abrasions are visible along the edges, for example along the left edge. Inspection under UV shows some scattered, thinly applied spots of retouching in the branches, and darker colors, as well as one very small spot on the top left corner of the sky. Painting can hang as is. Offered in a gitlwood frame.

This painting was executed by an anonymous 18th Century follower of Paulus Potter. The grass and dirt in the foreground recall Potter's 1651 painting in the National Gallery, London (inv. no. NG849) .
