Anonymous sale ('Property of a Private Collector'), New York, Sotheby’s, 5 June 1986, lot 47 (as Paulus Potter);

There acquired by the present collector.

This painting was executed by an anonymous 18th Century follower of Paulus Potter. The grass and dirt in the foreground recall Potter's 1651 painting in the National Gallery, London (inv. no. NG849)^[1].
