EDWARD HODGES BAILY (1788-1867)
BRITISH, MID-19TH CENTURY
BUST OF EVE
Overall the condition of the marble is good with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some veining to the marble, consistent with the material, including some slightly darker veins to Eve's chest. There is a slightly open vein to the truncation at the proper right shoulder, this has been partially filled. There is some slight weathering to the surface of the marble, in particular to the hair at the sides and at the back. There are some natually occurring inclusions to the forehead on the proper left side. There are minor chips and abbraisions to the edges of the truncation. There is a small chip to a curl of hair at the proper right temple.
