MOSAN-RHENISH, CIRCA 1200 | CORPUS CHRISTI
MOSAN-RHENISH, CIRCA 1200
bronze, with traces of gilding, with a fabric lined wood mount
Corpus: 20 by 18cm., 7⅞ by 7⅛in.
mount: 29 by 24½ by 9cm., 11⅜ by 9⅝ by 3½in.
Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are traces of gilding throughout. There is some darkening to the surface in areas, perhaps where the gilding has tarnished. The surface lacquers have rubbed at the high points. There are reddish residues to the hollowed back, probably wax.
The modern stand is in good condition with minor general wear.
