Overall this impressive picture is well preserved. The bodycolour retains much of its strength and power. There are minor areas of flaking and pigment loss - in the sky and at the edges, in particular. The paper is laid down onto a canvas - probably by Sandby himself. The frame is fine quality but a little worn.
