PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF BRIAN P. BURNS
PORTRAIT OF A SEATED WOMAN (LE CORSAGE BLEU)
signed and dated u.l.: O'Conor/ 1927; studio stamp atelier O'CONOR on the reverse
oil on canvas
54.5 by 45.5cm., 21½ by 18in.
The canvas has been strip-lined onto a new wooden stretcher. The reverse of the canvas has an application of adhesive. Some occasional traces of craquelure in the upper quarter of the picture and in the red cloth left of the model. The work appears to be in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish which makes the surface difficult to read conclusively. There appears to be a minor spot of retouching in the red cloth left of the model.
Held in a decorative gilt plaster frame ready to hang.
