Launched in 1992 and discontinued in 2010, the reference 5013 was Patek Philippe’s most complicated wristwatch made in a series. It was the first wristwatch to combine an automatic movement with minute repeater, retrograde date and perpetual calendar. The majority were made in either platinum or yellow and examples rendered in pink gold are rarely seen at auction.
The present example is in lovely original condition with a very nice case and crisp hallmarks. Like all Patek Philippe’s minute repeating wristwatches, the tone and clarity of this example is exceptional and allows the listener to appreciate and understand why Patek Philippe’s minute repeating wristwatches are so sought after amongst collectors.
