The Omega Speedmaster was introduced in 1957 and the first reference, the 2915, was in production until 1959. The present example is stamped 2915-2 to the case back; the -2 was identical to the -1 version. It remains in well preserved condition, with a deep black dial and the case back retains the 'SPEEDMASTER' engraving to the outer edge. The present lot's serial number is only 15 digits away from lot 20, another 2915-2, offered in Sotheby's, Omega Speedmaster: To the Moon and Back, July 19, 2019.
