The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Spherotourbillon combines the highly complicated caliber 382 with refined aesthetics creating a mesmerizing timepiece. The caliber 382 contains 460 individual parts and operates via a dual wing system. The movement is powered by two trains; one which activates a separate barrel for timekeeping and the respective complications.
The Duometre Spherotourbillon has a befitting name, as this particular tourbillon escapement completes a full rotation in 30 seconds while simultaneously performing a second rotation on a 20 degree axis in just 15 seconds; a mind boggling visual for the eyes. The timepiece also features a flyback seconds counter allowing the wearer to precisely set the time to the second; by running on a dual train system, the action does not affect the beat of the escapement.
