The understated Reverso Tourbillon was presented to mark the 60th anniversary of Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso model in 1991. The silvered dial is simplistic, but to the reverse, a sapphire display back reveals the impressive 14k pink gold toubillon movement with power reserve indication.
The original Reverso was designed by demand of British officers playing polo while serving in India during the late 1920s. Patented in 1931, the Reverso design slides and pivots to reveal a secondary face, once presented as a solid cover to protect the dial during sporting activity. More than 85 years later, is it is still a classic and popular model reinvented with modern technology and new aesthetics
