large 4to (354 x 261mm.), THE COMPLETE SET OF 29 LITHOGRAPHS, 17 in colour, and 105 héliogravures after etchings by the artist, an additional colour lithograph printed on the covers, text in French by Meyer Shapiro and Jean Wahl, illustrated boards, cloth slipcase, one text leaf slightly torn at foot, spine chipped at head and foot, a few small stains to upper cover
INSCRIBED AND SIGNED on the title-page by the artist, "Pour Mme Gita Feldman. Marc Chagall. 1957. Vence". Chagall's illustrations for the Bible were originally made between 1930 and 1935.
