the square stepped lower base decorated to each side with the ‘Three Jewels’ flanked by addorsed snow lions between two registers of stylised floral scrolls, surmounted by a rounded bumpa raised on a three-tiered base adorned with beaded jewel garlands and semi-precious stone inlay, the conical sphere framed by two appendages, topped with a parasol in open work and a finial representing the crescent moon and sun
Height 40.7 cm, 16 in.
There are general wear/losses to the inlays and gilding, wear to the surface and nicks to the extremities. There are some patchings to the base, including one to the edge (ca. 2.2 by 0.8 cm), together with some small holes, and another (ca. 0.9 x 0.3 cm) patching on the back of the bumpa in between 2 small holes. The appendages and parasol are loosely fitted. The base open.
