PROPERTY FROM AN ENGLISH PRIVATE COLLECTION
A PALE CELADON JADE PAPERWEIGHT
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
the polished stone naturalistically carved as a section of a gnarled pine tree, detailed to both sides with knots and branches laden with clusters of needles, the stone of even pale celadon colour with white inclusions and subtle black markings
Length 18.8 cm, 7½ in.
The weight has a tiny chip to the tip of one branch (middle right edge as illustrated in the catalogue). It should be noted the stone is of a slightly more celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
