Photographic portrait of Albert Einstein by John Graudenz, taken circa 1928


Silver gelatin print (4 x 6 in), affixed to original mount, signed and inscribed (in German) below image to left in ink "[trans]: [To Youra] Guller, the wonderful performer, in gratitude, Albert Einstein. 1928" and signed below image to right, in pencil "John Gaudenz." First word of inscription partially effaced, creasing to lower right corner of mat. Double matted, glazed, and framed to 12 ¾ x 17 ¼ in. 


Youra Guller, born Rose Georgette Fuller, was a French classical pianist who counted Albert Einstein amongst her many prominent chamber music partners.
