4to (8 3/4 x 7 in.; 222 x 178 mm, uncut and partly unopened). Publisher's maroon buckram over boards, printed label on front cover, dust-jacket; corners bumped, dust-jacket soiled and worn at extremities.


First edition, no. 16 of 100 copies on hand-made paper signed by Milne and by the illustrator, Ernest H. Shepard. This copy is further inscribed with a poem and signed by Milne, 8 March 1926, on the front free endpaper: "This book belongs to John Macre Jr: John had | Great big | waterproof | Boots on, | John had a | Great Big | waterproof | Hat | John had a | Copy of the | Limited | Edition— | and that | Said John | Is | That."
