EDUARDO LEÓN GARRIDO
1856 - 1949
signed E.L. Garrido and dated 1885 (lower left)
oil on panel
32 by 25½ in.
81.3 by 64.8 cm
Oil on panel. Overall the work presents well. A few isolated pin dots and dashes of accretion. There is a recent 2 inch dent and abrasion on the horizon line near the right edge. There are a few tiny paint losses and dents in the lower left quadrant. There is a small scratch on the back of the seat of the chair at lower left, and an upside down V shaped scratch just beneath the tablecloth at lower right. Small loss at right lower edge. Frame abrasion along right edge. There are six small holes evenly spaced along the top edge. Under UV: heavy uneven varnish fluoresces green. This varnish has begun to blanch, most noticeably in some of the darker areas under the tables. This work would benefit from a clean.
