JEAN DUBUFFET
1901 - 1985
FIGURATION XV
signed with the artist's initials and dated 74
felt-tip pen on paper laid on paper
32 by 21 cm. 12⅝ by 8¼ in.
Colour:
The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the original is much whiter, with fewer yellow undertones.
Condition:
This work is in good condition. Very close inspection reveals some faint discolouration along the left and upper edges, a few minute and faint fox marks to the upper left and centre right. Further very close inspection reveals some very light glue residue to the upper edge of the collage, which is inherent to the artist's choice of media.
