the photographer's credit and 'Magnum Photos' stamps and with annotations in pencil on the reverse, 1952 (Ernst Haas in Black and White, p. 133)
13⅜ by 9¾ in. (34 by 24.8 cm.)
This early print, with a semi-glossy surface, is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, the following are visible: a sharp crease at the center left; scattered soft handling creases; and several soft linear and crescent-shaped impressions. None of the aforementioned appear to break the emulsion. The print is trimmed to the image and the edges and corners exhibit some minor wear, including creases and minute chipping of the emulsion. There is a small loss to the emulsion at the lower left corner, and the upper left corner has been retouched.
There is minor soiling on the reverse. The following are written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse: 'Visuel Rhime [sic]'; 'Nevada Silverciti' [sic]; '1960'; 'Unit (crossed out); and '5/35.'
When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph fluoresces somewhat.
