9½ by 7¼ in. (24.1 by 18.4 cm.)
This photograph is in generally very good condition. In raking light, a few soft pin-point and linear impressions are visible overall. Upon close examination, there is a small deposit of retouching in the lower right quadrant in the area of the piano.
The photograph is on a mount with a smooth, semi-glossy surface. There is mat or graphite transference on the mount at the perimeter of the print. '#515' is in an unidentified hand in pencil near the lower edge of the mount.
The exhibition label on the reverse of the mount is annotated with the following information: Artist 'Alma Lavenson'; Street '58 Wildwood Gardens'; City 'Piedmont'; State 'Calif'; Title 'For Rent?' [crossed out] 'Burnt Out House 1946'; Medium 'Photograph'; and Registration No '4582.46.' There are a few abrasions in the lower portion and along the lower edge. 'I' and 'X' [each circled] and '!' are written in an unidentified hand on the reverse.
