The Dala’il al-Khayrat was particularly popular in North of Africa during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries but few copies bear a date and even fewer the name of the scribe. Two copies dated to the first quarter of the eighteenth century sold recently at Christie’s London, one dated 1119 AH/1707 AD, 23 April 2012, lot 135, and the other before 1129 AH/1717-18 AD, 18 April 2016, lot 28. Another copy dated 1133 AH/1721 AD was offered in these rooms, 25 October 2017; a further manuscript dated 1119 AH/1707 AD is now in the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (Dala'il al-Khayrat, Prayer Manuscripts from the 16th-19th Century, Malaysia, 2016, p.28, Ref.No.2012.11.16).
