Condition report

Overall the condition of the bust is very good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are some naturally occurring inclusions in areas. There is some veining, in particular to the proper right cheek. There are a few minor chips and abrasions, in particular to the edges of the truncation. The socle is in good condition overall, with a few minor chips to the edges and corners.

Please note that the present bust is a portrait of Félix Henri Carvalho who was the son of the famous impresario and stage director Léon Carvalho and the soprano Marie Caroline Miolan-Carvalho. The bust was exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1864 and is published by Lami.
