There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The sculpture is an outdoor sculpture and as such there is surface weathering throughout with some loss to the surface details. The surface has also greened and there is evidence of lichen from being outdoors. The tips of two of the proper left middle fingers are carved separately and are loose. There are some chips, abrasions and minor losses in particular towards the bottom. There is a brownish colour to the bottom of the sculpture. There is an original plug to the man’s back.
