DOMENICO BACCI (ACTIVE 19TH/20TH CENTURY)
FRENCH, CIRCA 1900
NUDE SEATED ON A ROCK
signed: D. Bacci / Firenze
white marble, on a yellow marble rock and a nero portoro marble base
57 by 36cm., 22⅜ by 14⅛in. overall
Overall the condition of the marble is very good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a minor dirt mark to the proper left wrist and another to the proper right knee. The yellow marble base is deliberately left roughly hewn to the back and to the right side. There is veining to the yellow marble, consistent with the material, including a few slightly open veins to the top and the front of the base. There are a few minor chips and abrasions to the edges and corners of both the yellow and the nero portoro marble bases.
