Description

Small-scale partial filigree Hanukkah lamp of sterling silver from Bezalel School, Jerusalem.

  • Backplate depicts a high priest lighting the menorah, surrounded by numerous figures playing musical instruments.
  • Two removable, articulating lights and cabochon gemstone at top center.
  • For use with candles.
  • Design is attributed to Ze'ev Raban.

Repairs to menorah, sconces have all been reattached underneath with lead solder.

Two of them are off line and obscuring the Bezalel signature.

Later screws and nuts holding the backplate.

Candle wax residue.

Dark patina overall.
