Alannah Farrell (American, b. 1988).

This work is offered unframed.

Alannah Farrell is a queer, trans painter who lives and works in New York. They received their BFA from the Cooper Union in 2011 and have exhibited their work at The Painting Center, New York; Theirry Goldberg Gallery, New York; and UTA Artist Space, Los Angeles.

Farrell’s practice is focused on the meditative exploration of the figurative tradition. Soft, repetitive brushwork acts as a vehicle for Farrell to portray their community with a complex tenderness. Each sensitive portrait investigates deep psychological questions and the alienation, anxieties and violences of modern queer life.
