Each surmount respectively set with a cabochon emerald weighing 11.33 and 11.94 carats, accented with marquise-shaped diamonds, clip fittings, unsigned, numbered, maker's mark for Alain Tarditi, 1973, supporting a detachable emerald drop weighing 21.64 and 22.29 carats respectively, unsigned, Harry Winston, 1974.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 104495 and AGL report no. 1097550 A and B, each stating that the cabochon and drop-shaped emeralds, weighing 11.94, 21.64, 11.39 and 22.29 carats, measuring 14.14 x 14.34 x 9.21mm, 13.80 x 14.20 x 18.86mm, 13.36 x 13.46 x 9.91mm and 14.08 x 14.40 x 18.88mm respectively, are of Colombian origin, with a minor amount of oil in fissures; each together with an appendix letter. Each with maker's mark for Alain Tarditi, numbered 7909, stamped Pt950 for platinum. Emeralds with some surface reaching inclusions. Please note that the emeralds have been repolished since they last appeared at auction in November 1995. Diamonds stated to weigh a total of approximately 27.46 carats, on average G-H colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. In very good condition. Total gross weight approximately 37 grams.

Catalogue Note

It is known that eight of the diamonds, in this pair of earrings, were part of the collection of His Highness Prince Aga Khan who had them mounted by Harry Winston in 1973, the drops were added one year later, also by Harry Winston.
