Condition

The canvas is lined. Examination under UV light reveal some minor spots and lines of retouching along the left edge associated to frame rubbing, some minor spots of retouching to the sky in the upper right quadrant, and along the lower part of the right edge. The varnish has degraded slightly and there is evidence of blanching to the figure's blue dress. There appear to be some old retouching to the path in the lower right quadrant, including an area possibly covering a former inscription and possibly executed by the artist. There are fine lines of craquelure to the thicker white pigments of the sky; as well as further horizontal lines of craquelure predominantly to the background at the left of the figure. Overall, this work is in good condition.
