Condition
The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals a layer of varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However, there appear to be some tiny spots of retouching to the left of the seated figure as well as to the outlines of the horse. There is a small puncture to the canvas to the rock at the far right of the composition which has been retouched. There is some paint shrinkage to the black pigment in places to the composition. This work is in overall good condition.
