Château Figeac 2005 St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (B)
Inky, almost 'Burgundian' nose. Extraordinary, glossy, even 'modern' vanilla taste. Great, huge wine. Is this a slight change of style, or the year, and/or will it settle down to be a classic, immediately recognisable Figeac? As the French say, à suivre, with fascination. Without a doubt, it will be great. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
