Condition

Condition consistent with age and use. This lot is sold with two keys and a later glass top. The surface presents with some discolouration throughout, as visible in the catalogue illustration, and with some large discolouration stains on the top, partially visible in the catalogue illustration. The proper left side of the desk with more significant discolouration. The wood presents with numerous scratches, scuffs, wear, instances of abrasion to the varnish, small dents and small chips of veneer throughout the surface. There are a few scattered old restorations (small chips and tiny holes have been filled, a few small veneer elements have been re-glued). The area around the keyhole on the drawers is darker, as visible in the catalogue illustration, and might have been re-finished at a later time. The bronze feet present with scratches and nicks. This desk would benefite from the care of a professional restorer.
