  • April

Condition

The canvas is unlined and the existing canvas is providing a stable structural support. The paint surface is in good condition with only small areas of fine craquelure visible on very close inspection (on the face). The paint surface appears clean with rich texture. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT The picture is difficult to read under UV light but there appear to be flecked infillings to the girl's face (probably to cracking) and to localised areas in the background. FRAME The picture is contained in a carved wood and gilt frame.
