Condition

the canvas has been lined which is providing a stable structural support. There are no signs of craquelure or other visible condition issues. The picture is ready to hang. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT There is an opaque varnish which makes it difficult to read the picture conclusively but there appear to be a few minor retouchings in the sky. FRAME The picture is contained in a later moulded plaster and gilt frame.
