Six engravings, 1586, from the set of ten, good, clear impressions of the second (final) states, each framed; with engraving, circa 1582, a fine, black impression of the only state, on paper with a small Fleur de Lys (?) watermark

Condition

All the prints trimmed on the platemark or just outside the borderline, in generally good condition, the prints from the set backed with laid paper (giving the impression that they are printed on thick laid paper), a few plates with old tape adhered to the backing sheet protruding beyond the lower edge of the print recto, a couple of plates with rippling and staining verso, framed. Imperfections to individual sheets include: Prints from the Set: B. 100: with some surface losses on and above the figure's helmet, and to the inscription which appears to have been scratched out, further tiny spots of surface losses in the sky upper right B. 102: a pen and ink inscription along the lower edge of the print and on the backing paper verso B. 96: the backing paper beginning to split apart from the print at the upper left reverse sheet corner B. 217: B. 217: one or two small stains in the area of the inscription lower right, some paper thinning due to surface skinning verso
