Etching, circa 1635, a good impression of New Hollstein's third state (of six), though showing touches of wear in the densely hatched areas, mostly in the sitter's cloak and hat, on paper with a partial Strasbourg Lily watermark (cf. Hinterding E'.c.b to E.zz)

Condition

Trimmed to or just inside the platemark, in generally good condition, the sheet with some thin made up areas, the largest in the lower right corner, also touched in with pen and black ink, a short horizontal tear in the right sheet edge (measuring approx. 6mm), small losses at each sheet corner, occasional unobtrusive creases, one broken through slightly, two pin holes to the left of the subject's mouth, the sheet discoloured, unframed.
