Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. The velvet around the dial is later. One upper molding of the top is missing. The pendulum and one brass element of the lower part of the case need to be refixed. The gilding is slightly rubbed and tarnished. There are some restorations to the marquetry. As stated in the catalogue, the console is later, in Louis XV style. Hands replaced. Movement has 19th century conversion to Brocot escapement and steel suspension, it needs a clean and service. With later pendulum. There are some liftings and losses to the brass and tortoiseshell Boulle marquetry. Please note that we do not guarantee the mechanism is in working order, it has to be checked by a professional.
