Catalogue Note
This pair of sheet-iron vases is comparable to a cooler presented on the art market a few years ago signed by the decorative arts dealer Charles-Raymond Granchez with his trademark name, le Petit Dunkerque, rue de Conti. On our pair of vases we find the same type of medallion with a pastoral scene against a dark ground and inlaid chiseled gilt bronze grasps on this cooler.
