Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. The gilding is rubbed and tarnished, revealing the red bowl, the white gesso and the wood underneath, to the angles, the armrests, the feet. There are stains, wears and tears to the 'toile de Jouy' style fabric, especially to the armrest and to the padded arms. the construction is firm and sound.
