Condition

Overall in very good, age-appropriate condition. The metal frame with scattered scuffs, scratches, oxidation and flaking to the paint throughout, consistent with age and use, partially visible in the catalog illustration. There are some areas of paint loss which have been sensitively touched up. The wooden steps with scattered rubbing, and faint scratches throughout, with isolated areas of nicks, chips and surface soiling largely concentrated to the front upper edges, further emphasizing the 1951 execution. The top step with a faint circular stain and grouping of scratches measuring approximately 5 x 6 1/4 inches. The original rubber wheels are slightly dry but roll smoothly. An incredibly rare to acquire an important work from one of France’s greatest designers of the 20th century.
