Condition

Overall very good condition. When viewed in person the shade displays an incredibly saturated color palette, ranging from fiery reds and oranges to vibrant green. The glass is vigorously mottled and displays an outstanding and striking vertical color transition. The shade with approximately 2 cracks dispersed throughout and only some extremely minimal surface soiling to the adjacent contours of the shade leading. The base is in very good condition with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, some minor oxidation to the recessed contours of the standard, and some gentle rubbing to the ribs at the top of the standard. The base cushion with some larger surface scratches, minor abrasions and some oxidation to the recessed areas within the spiraling tendrils, consistent with age and gentle use. All of the sockets appear original and undisturbed. With a period “Pig Tail” finial with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, a few shallow dents, some gentle rubbing to the outermost edge, and a few traces of adhesive residue. An exceptional example of the model displaying a truly outstanding glass selection very rarely seen for this model. The glass is dichroic, and when the shade is not illuminated and seen with reflected light, the lower red register appears a rich ochre with visible mottling to the glass.
