Condition

Overall very good condition. When viewed in person the shade presents beautifully, with slightly more subdued blue tones compared to the catalogue illustration and with a nice range of opalescent background tiles and vibrant cadmium yellow and yellow-orange daffodil blossoms. The shade with approximately 9 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade with very light surface soiling to the adjacent contours of the shade leading. The shade with minor rubbing to the patina and some oxidation throughout. The rare “Turtle-back” base is in overall very good condition. The bronze with scattered surface scratches and abrasions consistent with age and gentle use, and with a few occasional small and minor casting flaws, not visually detractive. The bronze with traces of oxidation to the recessed contours of the design and with scattered minor discolorations consistent with age. The Turtle-Back tiles present with intense jewel-tone iridization and are in very good condition. The socket and paddle switch appear to be period. With a period heat cap with scattered surface scratches and abrasions. A superb and harmonious shade and base pairing, displaying a highly artistic and thoughtful glass selection to the shade, and outstanding rich coloration to the base.
