Condition

This print, on double-weight paper mounted to foam board, is in generally good to very good condition. When examined in raking light, the following are visible: scattered foxing; a small, circular impression that does not break the emulsion at the left side in the white area; scattered thin scratches that do not appear to break the emulsion; and several small, sharp creases that likely occurred during mounting and do not appear to break the emulsion, near the lower edge. The red crayon appears to be slightly smudged around the drawing of the deer and the 'T' in 'Tiva.' The dedication reads as follows: '[doodle of a deer] (dear) Rogé(r) – your basic Seasons Greetings from the same old jungle – warmest regs, as ever, Peter (B)' There are 2 rectangular adhesive remnants on the left side of the mount that run slightly into the margin of the photograph. Excess dry-mounting tissue is visible on the mount at the periphery of the photograph. On the reverse of the mount are soiling, rust-colored impressions, and abrasions.
