Condition

This unique triptych of gelatin silver paper negatives is in generally excellent condition. The linear burn across the 3 paper negatives in the present triptych represents the desired effect of McCaw's working process. Heat causes a chemical change in the gelatin on the paper producing colors of orange and red, with ash that ranges from a glossy black to an iridescent metallic surface. Each negative is gently rippled overall.
