Light is the mother of all colours, fog sets them down. In the billions of energy’s rays that are contained in a beam of light, there is a colour with its identity, namely with its wavelength, with its frequency. Colours with higher frequency or shorter wavelengths are the hottest colours between yellow and light violet.
If we project a ray of light on a wall by passing it through a prism, we will have in front of us the image of Light with all its colours, the spectrum of Light. All this concerns the physical appearance of colours, and these are subjects that are taught at school. There are, however, other ways to hear and see the colours for the effects they have on our minds and our emotions. All the sciences, from psychology to chemistry, use colours as symbols or evidence. But the most important feature of colours is the one that allows them to stimulate our imagination and create emotions.
