The original painting representing The Soldier's Rest is kept in the Musée Magnin in Dijon ; the original composition for The backyard from a wheel-making shop is kept at the Musée Carnavalet, Paris. Another version with the same subject is also kept at Carnavalet, of lesser quality and thus considered a studio work.
