Condition
The masonite board is stable. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal no signs of retouching. There is some frame rubbing along the extreme edges notably to the left part of the lower edge with a few associated dots of paint loss in particular to the centre of the left edge. There is some gold residue along the extreme edges from a previous mounting. There are three tiny dots of dirt towards the center of the composition in the black pigment. This work is in overall very good condition.
