The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the red is brighter in the original work. Moreover, the image does not accurately convey the rich texture of the surface.
The work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined.
The surface is slightly dirty on the thicker impastos. There are some faint hairline cracks located mainly on the upper right quadrant, on the white paint. The thicker dark brown impastos present few cracks, some of which have been consolidated. On tiny paint loss (3mm) is visible under close inspection along the left edge, by the upper corner.
Under Ultra Violet light inspection there is no evidence of retourching.
This work is in very good condition.
